A federal lawmaker has commiserated with the people of Ota on
the passing of Olota of Ota, Oba Moshood Oyede who joined his ancestors on
Tuesday, May 31, 2016 as announced by Ogun State Government.
Hon. Adekoya Adesegun Abdel-Majid who represents
Ijebu-North/Ijebu-East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of
Representatives described the late king as a prominent Oba who contributed immensely
to the development of Ota Town and Ogun State at large.
He said he had a personal interaction with the late Olota
while he was the Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy
Affairs.
"My family and I commiserate with people of Ota on the passing
of Oba Moshood Oyede, Olota of Ota. During this difficult time, I share in the
grief of the people of Ota and urge them to take solace in the good memories of
the late king."
The monarch, who
spent 19 years on the throne, passed away at University College Hospital, UCH,
Ibadan following protracted illness.
Passage rites for
the traditional ruler have already commenced as his remains were due in the
town on Sunday.
